14 Years Later… NaBloPoMo

by

In 2011, I announced an attempt at participating in the National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo) , a sort of alternative to National Novel Writing Month, which traditionaly has been held in November.

My inital post on the project is here: https://shawnlevasseur.com/2011/11/nanowrimo-no-nablopomo-wtf/

I didn’t stick with it, but I’m giving it another shot for a variety of reasons, I’ll get into in future posts.

That said I’ll at least set out my goals (similar to my prior attempt, but with some modifications).

  • One original post per day minimum
    • 100 word minimum
    • Excerpts or links to other items may count if at least 50 words of original commentary are included.
    • Secondary goal: 50 original posts for the month
  • Secondary goal: Reviving a number of older posts that had been demoted to “drafts” status in prior redesign attempts.
    • The 2011 NaBloPomo post linked to above is one such revived post.
    • Goal: 15 such revived posts
    • Secondary goal: One revived post per day
    • Revived posts don’t count towards the main one post per day goal.
  • Secondary goal: 10,000 words of original content
    • Original content word count may include any new content added to revived posts (such as the addendum to the 2011 NaBloPoMo post.
    • Stretch goal: 25,000 words of original content (half of a NaNoWriMo goal)
  • Not a goal, but a guideline: To post about blogging. Why and how I’m doing this, as well as some chat on the experience of going through NaBloPoMo.
